Dreams and Nightmares
"What happens to our dreams when we realize they're never going to come true? They turn into nightmares."
I heard this said while watching Jessica Jones on Netflix. (If you haven't watched it yet, you should. It's a great show.) This quote really got me thinking though, and I think Jessica really has a point.
Think about all of the things you've ever wanted for yourself, but you've never been quite able to get your hands on. Do they haunt you in your sleep, or even you're awake? I know mine do.
One of the hardest part about dreams, is realizing that some of them may never come true. Even worse than that, is realizing that it is time to let them go. Now, that is way harder than it seems. I'm still struggling to let go of some things myself to be honest.
I guess that's the thing about dreams, they are so realistic and so within reach most times that it just doesn't seem necessary to let them go. It's like why let it go, when you can pretty much reach out and touch it?
I encourage you all to write down your dreams, write down your nightmares, and write down the dreams you've achieved for yourself. Keep them as a reminder of your growth. I will do the same. And in the event that one day, your nightmare turns into something you've achieved you will have the satisfaction of moving it over on your list!
I hope this has helped you, as much as it has helped me.
