Cheers to 4 Years UBG!
Four years ago, I decided to release my passion project Urban Black Girl. I didn't really know what I was doing, all I knew was that I wanted to write...and hell I am really good at it.
The amount of support I received that 1st year was way more than I ever expected but I was so grateful. And in year 4, I am still grateful. Y'all have been nothing short of supportive and amazing.
Year 4 will bring on some real changes! I'm so excited for you all to see what I've been working on: including Feature Fridays, the 1st of which will be back on 11/6.
The number 4 has a couple different meanings that I would like to share with you all.
Repeatedly seeing the number 4 could mean that the angels around you will bring you stability in all aspects of your life. They will make you feel safe and they will help you make your decisions easily, if you let them.
Repeatedly seeing the number 4 can also be a sign that you should be patient in the future.
It was on the 4th day that God created the sun, the moon and the stars...the universe as we know it.
The number 4 may also symbolize your aspirations and passions that you have coming into fruition.
Year 4 for UBG will resonate with all that was just mentioned. Typically, anniversaries are celebrated in increments of 5, but for some reason the number 4 kept appearing to me and resonating with me. I did some research and things started to make sense.
Many of you know, my only sibling passed away shortly after I graduated from Bradley. My sister is the reason why I write, she was an authoress. Funny how we both grew up to love words and were both great a stringing them together. But she's my angel, and I think things are about to come full circle for me and for UBG.
So thank you dear sister of mine, for everything you taught me. I wish we had more time together, but God knew I'd still make you proud me.
Continue to rest beautifully TK.
Urban Black Girl would like to thank you all for reading for 4 years, and I hope that you'll continue reading for another 4 years.
-Love Your Urban Black Girl
